Kathryn going to the Masked Ball
This little dolly is so sweet. Her softly painted papier-mache face is framed with raw flax hair. Coming out of her hair are two tiny little birds. In her hand is a small brown kitty mask for the ball. She is wearing a soft turquoise open-front dress, which has a design in burnished gold. Her underskirts are cream tissue paper. Hanging below her stomacher is a charm from Cathy Penton Designs with  "K" on it.
This dolly is about 9" tall, and is able to come out of her presentation box, which is about 12" tall. I have painted this wooden box turquoise, and comb-painted the outside and added a bit of walnut ink to age it.

"Closing In"
Some of my most favorite pieces of pottery are brown with some kind of deep rustic blue flowers and birds quickly painted on them. I wanted to create a piece that reflected the homey-cozy feeling I get when I see them and get to drink a steaming cup of coffee from them.
Deeply textured, rich browns, blues and creams.
Plaster, Acrylic - about 12 x 16
